YAY Viva?! .. not
I am probably the most dissatisfied Zain customer on the face of planet Earth (not including Wifey that is, who lost her phone number to an Indian brother because of the ignorance, poor training and the unprofessionalism of one of their customer services team.. but that is a different story altogether).
I have been a loyal, bill paying, heavy voice and data user of Zain ever since their launch 6 years ago, still remember standing in line by the tent held in seef on the evening of their launch date.
I must say their services the first couple of years weren’t as bad as they are now, I am talking poor coverage (ok the word poor here is an understatement, NO coverage around some area’s around the kingdom), VERY poor reception of Data.. Casual disconnections are now officially a part of my day, just because the phone didn’t ring the past two hours doesn’t necessarily mean that nobody was calling! It just means that Zain decided to disconnect you off the network for some unknown reason.. What’s ANNOYING is that they NEVER admit it! I have noted a number of times where a total blackout of their services all around the country for times of 10-15 minutes, they go totally ignored.. as if it didn’t happen!
No matter how many NASTY emails I have sent them signed both anonymously and with my name, I was ignored!
It is beyond me how a multimillion dollar giant telecom company can’t secure a simple thing like proper reception around a small island like Bahrain.
I rushed on the news of the launch of Viva services, and boy was in for another treat.. 21MB unlimited and FREE internet connection that is one LIMITED, and TWO not free and THREE with a connection speed that drastically varies based on your location within the country.
And, to seal off the deal.. data packages weren’t released yet and “will be announced VERY soon” except, nobody knows how soon is their “soon” .
Their launch was a total mess by all measures, I now have a sim card that I cannot /will not use because they didn’t really “launch” their full services yet. (which wasn’t what was advertised).
Their packages are very reasonable, limited packages but cheaper than Zain or Batelco which is a good start.. but it is too early to judge.. We are only talking about 7,000 subscribers till date so.. let’s wait and see..
