BANG!
My hand watch was just pointing around 10 AM, time I drive out the house heading to work. I pack my stuff, hit the pedal. Two minutes later, right at the VERY FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT in my 45 minute drive to work. A car drove right into me..
Hitting my driver side door.. throwing my car against the side walk before continuing it’s way to hit another car that was parked by. The last thing I saw before the green light is the car driving right into me. 5 minutes later, I was waken up by a passer by (I apparently fainted – or slept- right after the accident) the guy came out of no where and was shouting at the top of his voice that I should get out of the car “RIGHT NOW”. I look around, everything was so smashed up! My shoulder ached so bad, a couple of empty seconds passed by before me realizing what happened.. Little did I know, this was the beginning of my new adventure into a one-armed existence!
I jumped out of the car through the passenger’s door, went to the near by costa coffee to get some water, I sat down at the side of the road looking at the other car and the scene as a whole..
Not less than 20 people came out of their cars for help (or curiosity.. depends how you look at it really), I silently watched as everybody asked how “bad” the girl was hurt. Not ONE even looking towards me, I tried holding my hurt shoulder.. didn’t get any attention either.. an ambulance soon came to pick her up. I had to wait to finish the paperwork with the police officer for another half an hour in the sun, before WALKING back home. Being a GUY in a car accident, nobody even offered to give me a ride home!
I drive to the hospital, get my shoulder checked. The doctor smiles at me and whispers, Good News! No broken bones, just a deeply fractured clavicle (collarbone) and then gave me a choice of oral or intramuscular pain killer. I gladly chose the latter before walking right out of the hospital door, for free! You apparently get treated for free if you were involved in a car accident! Sweet huh!? أشكر القيادة الحكيمة
The good news is that it’s not broken and the girl that drove into me is actually in a better situation than I am (and came out without a scratch), the bad news is that the pain in my shoulder that is just so intense, that I can’t even move my arm…in any direction..! Not only that, I wasn’t even given a sling or anything! I don’t even look injured! The doctor insisted that there is nothing that he could do, and let me go back home loaded with a handful of painkillers which I shoved down like skittles the first couple of days.
I always thought how cool it would be to break my arm as a kid, I always wanted one of those casts so my friend can write all sort of COOL stuff all around it.. today it hurts me to even TYPE, and there’s nothing cool about that!
By the third day I realized that I am not doing my body any good with the pain killers, I decided to be a MAN and stop taking them. It took me only 2-3 hours before it started to hurt to even breathe in deeply and everything just started to become an adventure! Dressing up now takes me 20 minutes, turning the steering wheel in the car means unbearable pain, and it’s very normal that you wake up in pain in the middle of the night because you rolled on your injured shoulder!
What is really annoying is that my precious car is still parked near the scene of the accident! I couldn’t move it anywhere, the agent won’t take it without an accident report from the General Directorate of Traffic, and my insurance company refuses to take it to their yard without the same report.
The report can’t be given to me, now that the case should be routed to the Public Prosecutor because the lady has crossed a red light resulting in the accident. It has been two weeks for me without a car, or a replacement car AND I will have to pay a 10 BD fine to Riffa Municipality because it’s apparently an offence to leave a damaged car anywhere, I have moved the car again, waiting to be fined yet again OR the wake up of conscious of the girl that hit me..
It really feels good to let the entire story out…
I haven’t nagged in a while..
Salamat Mo. Matshoof Shar inshallah. I don’t want to sound cruel, but I broke a little bone in my hand 15 years ago, and it still stings when it’s cold, so keep the painkillers close by all the time

oh dude, salamat! im suprised that although youre ranting about pain and all, you managed to type all that. just kidding :p seriously, thats messed up…
but seriously, through all this, her insurance company is supposed to take up all the costs… you can argue your case for a replacement car, try that and see what happens

على فكرة سالفة التحيز في مساعدة البنات مو دايما تصير تره .. بالنسبة لي آخر حادث سيارة دعمني فيها واحد نتفه كان يلاحق ويا قروب ربعه بنت في سيارة ثانية وكان مسرع وما أنتبه اني تجاوزت لليسار وصرت جدامه مع اني كنت ماعطته اشارة ومسافة كافيه بس النتفة طلع اخوه ضابط كبير وانت عارف لما يكون أخوك ضابط وربعه كلهم في المرور كل شئ صار في صالحه ورغم انه اهو اللى دعمني الا انهم طلعوني غلطانة بحجة التجاوز الغلط

Go the pharmacy and get your own sling…you know how you feel more than a doctor so if you believe it would make you feel better to sling it then do so…I dont imagine it could make it worse. You also might try heatpads or cold compress…try each out and see what works best for you. Some years back I banged my small toe very hard…it hurt like hell…a few days later I managed to bang it again…it turned black and blue for 2 months. I never went to the doc but later I discovered I had broken it and didnt realize…but those pain killers were my very best friends for awhile there…my sympathies are with you.
Good luck with the car insurance…I only just got my jeep into the garage to fix the accident that happened 2 months ago…so much hassle cause the person who hit me didnt have insurance or registration…like thats my fault and I should be held accountable and delayed cause of it.
poor you very sad for you,but anyway get up shake it off and sue the guy, sue him for all he has of money.

My father got fed up and decided to talk to someone who “knows” someone, and actually get a patrol car to go pay the girl a visit at her house, she came the next day and paid the 50 BD fine! I now have the police report to give the insurance company.. WOHO!
The pain has greatly subsided now, it was constant and sharp the first week. Now it just feels like I’m walking around with a pencil stuck in my shoulder, weird feeling but.. I think I’ll survive!

Got into an accident myself two weeks ago, and the result was my right ribs being hit on the hand gear ! Not fracture or broken rib…
But apparently there is a ” hair size ” crack in my right ribs, which may explain why I am still aching !!
Strangely, on the day of the accident, could not feel any pain except from the ribs.. but on the second day and after waking up …. My whole body was aching !
And it would pain me more lying on the bed than walking… had a haed time trying to sleep!!
But it was a new something new to me passing to that experience !
