Lies Lies Lies

Submitted by moodz on Tuesday, 1 January 20085 Comments

I chose not to watch the program of Sawsan AlSha’er the other day; I have taken a personal oath to stay away from all national media starting the 16th of December, you really don’t expect much of local news or even proper coverage on the media throughout those couple of weeks, nothing but force feeding that Bahrain is in fact a prosperous wealthy and democratic country that hosts the best F1 races known to the humankind.

I came across a clip of the program uploaded by one of the viewers and couldn’t help but to laugh at the hypocrisy and the lies that were so bluntly pulled out at the nation by people supposedly representing ministries and individuals representing the so-called “pro-governmental views”.

Not that lying and using fake evidence by the Ministry of Interior are new thing, we have all read and laughed on the story of the “Training Camp in Bani Jamra – Link” and the so called “Store for Moltov Bombs” in Juffair that was proved fake by AlWasat – Link.

But what was aired on the program was different; all of a sudden it wasn’t funny anymore. How someone would stand out like that and lie on public TV is just way beyond me, how low can you get really?

The below is the clip aired in the program supposedly showing an injured riot control officer in the recent clashes. Let’s take it one step at a time:

untitled_0001-036_0001.jpg
Entire Aired Clip Here

Lie 1: The “injured riot control OFFICER (without the “S” that Mrs. AlSha’er is desperately trying to shove down the throat of the colonel) is dressed in the old uniform of Bahraini riot control officers (which has been recently changed for all active duty members) the recent pictures taken on the days of the incident 17-21th of December clearly show riot control officers dressed in the new navy blue uniforms. The injured officer is most likely a victim of a previous incident in which riot control officers brutally attacked an unauthorized march last year; similarly a police patrol car was also burned and destroyed.

Notice all pictures of officers in the clip are dressed up in the old uniform, except for one.

Lie 2: Tear Gas being a “none-lethal weapon” and it’s used all around the world. I don’t want to even get into this crap, I just wonder where on earth did he come up with the conviction that tear gas is actually non-lethal and is used ALL around the world.

A simple 10 seconds search around google will show you the real truth behind this. To whoever out there that is concerned on the real effects of the CS gas do take the time to go through this.

Why would anyone give such blind reassurances when proper research is simply not done, has the colonel actually spray it in the face of someone with a history of heart problems, or a pregnant woman, or even an infant to prove it is safe?

Lie 3: From the aired program:

From AlWaqt Newspaper – Link:

I could just go on all night long about this ridiculous nonsense if I was at least paid for it; the magnitude of bullshit in that 1 hour program is just amazing!

And it’s so one sided! That who was supposedly representing the opposition was corned by 3 pro government individuals and the broadcaster herself giving him absolutely no room to even properly reply the accusations that were fired one after the other.

That is all I have time to..

Shit. Can these people even speak Arabic properly? How embarrassing! I suppose communicating in Urdu most of the time must’ve hindered their Arabic language skills.
